Getting Started
Initial Meeting
When we meet in person for the first time, not only will we discuss your project, we will also get to know each other a little bit. We like to hold this first meeting on your lot so we can start to get to know the land as well. We will expect you to have questions about the building process, and we will come prepared to answer them! We would also be happy to take you to see some completed or current builds at this time, if we are able to. We want to make sure you feel we are the best people to build your future home!
Project Scope and Sequence
The next thing to discuss is the scope of the project. During this phase, we will ask questions about things like your plan (or help you choose one), your preferred home style and finishing options, and the mechanicals you want in your home. We will also ask you to sign a preliminary contract during this phase. All of this will allow us to dig a little deeper (sometimes literally, should a soil test be necessary) to most accurately envision the scope and sequence of your home build.
Cost Estimation and Financing
Once we have a good idea of the scope and sequence of your build, we can put together a more accurate estimate of how much it might cost to build. This is usually required by banks before they will approve any financing that may be required. Once your construction loan is approved, we will take on the responsibility of keeping track of expenses and working with the title company to make sure all subcontractors and bills are paid.
Break Ground!
Now it’s time for the fun part – the actual building of your new home! Although it can be a long process filled with many decisions, we will be with you every step of the way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We believe communication is key and will speak on the phone and meet with you frequently to make sure your expectations are being met and that no detail gets overlooked.
